I’m hoping everyone had a great week. Here’s what’s coming to LifePoint in the next few days:
Business meeting tomorrow
Tomorrow morning, Feb 8, at 10:00 am, we will have a special business meeting to hear a short presentation on the financial details of the proposed purchase and renovation of the property located at 11200 North Eastern Ave, OKC. After that, we will vote on whether we believe this is the right step for LifePoint and to authorize the Executive Team to make an offer.
The meeting will begin with a time of concerted prayer. Afterwards will come the explanation of the financial details, and then the vote.
Please be in prayer all day today that we will know God’s mind on this most important issue.
Oklahoma Liberty Coalition training
On Feb 15 at 2:00 pm, Sue Dyer and Connie Thayer will offer a training session to teach you how to use the new website the Oklahoma Liberty Coalition has created to assist you in knowing what bills our state legislature is deliberating while they are in session. This new tool will help you better guard your liberty and unalienable rights. The training will take place in room 202 on the second floor just outside the entrance to Constitution Hall where we take care of our children on Sundays. If you are interested, plan on being there. If you have any questions, see Sue or Connie.

- Pastor’s/BRR Class, 10 am – business meeting. If there is time after the business meeting, we will have our Pastor’s/BRR class. Based on questions I have received lately about cremation, I will teach a short lesson on what the Bible teaches about the proper way to deal with the remains of our loved ones. With the increased costs of funerals and the growing popularity of cremation, this is becoming a more frequently asked question. Come and hear what Scripture says about the issue we all will eventually face in one way or another.
- Worship/Preaching service, 11 am – based on questions about what the Bible teaches about divine election, eternal security, Christians who commit suicide, and whether hell is eternal conscious torment or annihilation, we are presently in the message series, “Saved.” These messages attempt to answer these important questions. For the past 3 messages, we have been dealing with the issue of divine election and will begin winding down that discussion tomorrow with the message, “Does God Predestine People For Hell?” Because Calvinism has become so “in vogue” these days, many are being confused by its teachings. The question as to if God “determines” the vast majority of people for hell is critical and has a massive impact on how we read Scripture and preach/share the Gospel. If you’ve been told God “desires” that people go to hell and that He only “chooses” a minority to go to heaven, and are confused or wondering about that, you’ll definitely want to hear this message. If you have missed any of the previous 3 messages on election, they are available on our church website at lbcok.com.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,
Dan Fisher
