9/7/2024 Message

Good Saturday afternoon LifePoint family,

Just a few quick things about this weekend’s Membership Sunday:

  1. We will have a “condensed” Doorway Class tomorrow morning at 10:00am in Constitution Hall. This class is required for membership and will become critical for our church going forward. I realize that most of you attending LifePoint have been in church for years and have been with us since the beginning on Jan 21, 2024 – or even before. However, I think it is important that all of us have a good idea of what “becoming a member of LifePoint” requires, so I believe it is equally important that everyone participate in the Doorway Class – no matter how long you’ve been with us. We will have a sign-in table in the foyer for those who are joining LifePoint. Be sure to sign in! Thank you for your cooperation.

  2. In the Worship/Preaching service at 11:00am, I am going to preach a message entitled, “Why Even Join A Church?” This message will emphasize the importance of “belonging” to a local fellowship.

  3. At the end of the Doorway Class and the Worship/Preaching Service, everyone who qualifies (this will be covered in the Doorway Class) will be invited to join LifePoint as a charter member.

As most of you know, there are numerous things going on within our church body that you can participate in. Here are a few:

    - The Women’s Ministry is beginning their fall “small group” Bible studies. These studies will not only be a great time of teaching and sharing, but they will also provide a great opportunity for our ladies to connect with each other. See Pam Fisher, Penny Allen, or Carrey Beth Lehew for more information.

    - On Sept. 21, at 10:30am at the Mineral Wells Park, Guthrie, OK, Crossroads Pregnancy Clinic is holding their annual Walk for Life “Rescue Me” run/walk. Even if you cannot do the run or the walk, Crossroads is inviting you to come and enjoy the food, fellowship, and focus on the importance of ministering to women (and their pre-born babies) who are considering abortion. As you know, we at LifePoint wholeheartedly support the work of Crossroads and encourage the members of LifePoint to help whatever way you can. See Amy Bachelor for more info.

    - Val is still working on our digital LifePoint Church Directory. If you have not yet verified the personal information you want included, please use your church app (click on "Directory") to do so asap. If you need assistance, Val is ready and happy to help. A separate email will soon follow with step-by-step details.

In closing, we know that there are many in our fellowship who need our prayers so I encourage you to remember them as you pray. But I want to ask for special prayers for Dan and Shelli Filkins. Their daughter who is in her 30s is battling with cancer and took a turn for the worse this week. Dan and Shelli traveled to CA to be with her and the rest of the family. I know they would appreciate your prayers during this very difficult time.

I’m looking forward to seeing you at LifePoint tomorrow,
Dan Fisher
