Good Friday LifePoint family,
Great news – last Sunday we had the highest attendance ever in a morning service (with the exception of Easter) with 205 present! And get this – that’s on the last Sunday of July which is often a lower attendance period. It’s going to be exciting to see what our attendance will be this fall when everyone returns from vacations and other activities!

- This Sunday in the Pastor’s Class at 10:00am, we will continue the lesson, Part 4: “The Fall(s) of Satan.” Most people are aware that Satan “fell” from heaven but most are unaware that Scripture records at least 5 “falls” of Satan and that, even though he was cast out of heaven, he still has access to heaven and spends a good deal of the time there. Come discover what Scripture says about it.
- This Sunday in the worship/preaching service at 11:00am, we will get back to the “Experiencing God” message series with Part 7: “God is speaking to you – but how?” To this point, we’ve been using Henry Blackaby’s book, Experiencing God, as a general outline to this series. However, at this point, we will stray from Blackaby’s teaching and discuss how I understand Scripture teaches that God speaks to us. Is God constantly guiding us through whispers, nudgings, and supernatural promptings? How subjective is God’s communication to us? Is there a more “sure way” of hearing from God?
- I’ll be doing the BRR presentation Sunday evening, August 11, at 6:30pm at The House Church in Paul’s Valley. If you have family or friends in that area you think would like to see the presentation, give them a shout and let them know about it. If you want to send them the promo video, reach out to Val Tharp and she’ll hook you up with it so you can send it to your social media.
- The memorial service for VeaLoy Ross will be Sunday, August 18. We will have a condensed worship/preaching service that Sunday and then begin the memorial service at 12:00pm. If you want to give a love offering in memory of VeaLoy and to help Robin, you can do so by giving through LifePoint. Just make certain the offering is clearly marked for Robin. https://lbcok.com/give
- On Saturday, September 7, our LifePoint Women will begin their fall Bible studies with a Kick-off Coffee. The following week, home Bible study groups will begin in four different homes. For more info, see Penny Allen or Pam Fisher. You can register by clicking here! https://bit.ly/46y3kcL
- Remember that Membership Sunday will be September 8. Everyone who joins that Sunday will be a charter member of the church. We will have a “condensed” Doorway Class that day from 10:00am-10:45am. In the future, the full Doorway Class will be required for membership and we’ll periodically offer the class as the need demands.
- August 30-Sept 2, Sight & Sound will present the movie version of their life stage production, Daniel. Even though performances of “Daniel” have only been available in PA but you have wanted to see it, here’s your chance. For more info, click this link or see Andrew and Susan Cro. https://www.danielevent.com/
- Saturday, September 21, Crossroads Pregnancy Clinic will sponsor a fundraiser “Walk for Life & Rescue Me Run” at Mineral Wells Park in Guthrie. There will be a time run at 9am and the walk will begin at 10:30am. For more info, click the link below and/or contact Amy Bachelor. This link will take people to where they can register to walk or run and donate to a team or individual who is fundraising. https://www.ccwalkforlife.com/
That’s all for this week. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
