Good afternoon LifePoint family,
I want to thank everyone for your assistance and patience last Sunday as we attempted to condense our regular service to provide time to celebrate the life of VeaLoy Ross in a special memorial service afterward. Many of you stayed for the uplifting celebration and I know Robin was blessed. We miss VeaLoy already, but we know we will see her again soon. If you like to watch the recording of that service, click here.
As summer is quickly ending, there are a few opportunities you need to be aware of:
September 8 will be “Membership Sunday.” Everyone who joins will be listed as a charter member of LifePoint. We will offer our very first Doorway Class for membership during the 10:00 am Bible study time. This will be a condensed version of the class that will be required for membership in our church in the future. If you are going to be out of town that weekend, but would like to join the church, let Gary Davis or me know and we’ll work with you to make certain you can have access to the Doorway Class lesson.
Our LifePoint Women’s Ministry will begin their in-home gatherings the week following their Kickoff event that occurs September 7. If you would like to sign up or learn more information, see Penny Allen, Pam Fisher, or speak to someone at the welcome center in the Constitution Hall lounge.
Val is working on a new church directory for us. This is a vital tool for our congregation, and we need everyone to participate. She is ready to go live with it but needs your input concerning your personal information that you want listed for others in the church to view. You have control over what info you want listed. To help facilitate the process, everyone needs to complete the steps in the emailed newsletter entitled "How to Join the Directory" after you receive your email invitation to join. More details soon.
Here's how our gatherings for tomorrow, Aug 25, will look:
Pastor’s Class, 10:00 am – everyone seems to be enjoying the Q&A so we will continue it one more Sunday. If you have questions, either email or text them to me, or be prepared to ask them during the session. After tomorrow, we’ll go back to our study of the Millennium. Don’t worry though, we’ll have another Q&A soon. If you would like to review the lessons in this Millennium series, click here.
Worship/preaching service, 11:00 am – tomorrow, we will complete the multi-part message I’ve been doing entitled, “God is speaking to you – but how?” If you have been attending LifePoint for the past few months, you know we have been in a message series entitled, “Experiencing God.” We are presently considering part 7 of that series in this multi-part sermon on how God speaks to us. Obviously, knowing how God speaks to His children is a vital issue. Sadly, there is so much false teaching or misunderstanding on this subject that I have felt the need to spend much time on it. I hope the messages have been helpful. If you would like to review the lessons in this Experiencing God series, click here.
Last, many of you have been asking about a possible Plymouth/Boston tour for this fall. Unfortunately, we’re not going to be able to make that happen this fall, but I do want to begin working on a date for the tour in late spring of next year. Be on the watch for more information on that shortly.
That’s all for this week. I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,
Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday,
Dan Fisher
