Thank you, Lord, for the cool weather and a much-needed break from the heat!
A few reminders for what is on tap for this Sunday and for the next few weeks:
- In the Pastor’s Class at 10:00am, we’ll finish the lesson, “The Fall(s) of Satan,” and then close our time with a Q&A. So, bring your questions about what we’ve been studying the past few weeks and let’s discuss.
- In the 11:00am worship/preaching service, I’ll continue the message, “God Is Speaking to You – But How?” This topic is vital to our spiritual health and journey. It is my prayer that with what we covered last Sunday and with what we’ll explore over the next few weeks, we can acquire a stronger biblical perspective on how God communicates to His children and clear up many of the false teachings and misconceptions most have.
- Sunday evening at 6:30 (Aug 11), I’ll be presenting the BRR presentation at The House Church, 33440 Airline Rd., Paul’s Valley, OK. I would appreciate your prayers for a fruitful time there. If you have family or friends who live in that area, reach out and encourage them to join us. If you want to send them the promo video, just forward them the following link: https://rumble.com/embed/v581re2/?pub=3914vt
- Next Sunday, Aug 18, our worship/preaching service will look somewhat different than normal. We will begin at 11:00am with an abbreviated time of worship and then go directly into the message. We will conclude that part of the service at 11:55 and take a short 5-minute break. At 12:00pm, we will begin the memorial service for VeaLoy Ross which will conclude at 12:45. I look forward to honoring one of our dear members who has now experienced the ultimate spiritual journey in going to be with the Lord. I encourage you to join us as we honor VeaLoy and Robin.
- On Saturday, September 7, our LifePoint Women will begin their fall Bible studies with a Kick-off Coffee. The following week, home Bible study groups will begin in four different homes. For more info, see Penny Allen or Pam Fisher. We will continue registration in person at UCO each Sunday in the foyer through September 8. Bible study books are $14.50 (payable online or in person).
- For everyone who wants to become a charter member of LifePoint, mark your calendars for Sunday, September 8. That’s the day we will celebrate “Membership Sunday.” For everyone intending to join that day, we will offer the Doorway Class during the 10:00am Bible study time. This will be an exciting day at LifePoint you will not want to miss!
- Some of you have asked about being baptized. We’re working on a baptism service for early fall – details coming soon.
- Remember, Saturday, September 21, Crossroads Pregnancy Clinic will sponsor a fundraiser “Walk for Life & Rescue Me Run” at Mineral Wells Park in Guthrie. There will be a time run at 9am and the walk will begin at 10:30am. For more info, click the link below and/or contact Amy Bachelor. This link will take people to where they can register to walk or run and donate to a team or individual who is fundraising. https://www.ccwalkforlife.com/
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
