1/25/2025 Message

Good afternoon LifePoint family,

I understand the services last Sunday went well in my absence.  Thank you for your understanding of my need to travel to Poteau to participate in my old friend’s retirement service.  Rick was very appreciative, and we gave him a great send-off into the next chapter of his journey.

Tomorrow, I’ll be back in the saddle at LifePoint. Here’s how the services will look:

Pastor’s Class, 10:00 am – We will continue our study of biblical types by completing part 1 and then beginning part 2: “The Sabbath – something much greater than one day in the week.” Why is Sabbath observance so important in the Old Testament and why did the early church begin to worship on the first day of the week?  This lesson will cover this and much more.  I hope you can be there.

Worship/preaching service, 11:00 am – The recent passing of President Jimmy Carter raises questions about being “born again” and how far someone can stray from Scripture and still be a Christian. To help address this dilemma, I will be preaching a message entitled, “Did Jimmy Carter believe in a ‘PlayDoh’ Jesus?” This message will deal with many questions but will address a central one:  "Can we make Jesus into whomever we please, or is His person forever fixed by scripture?"  Come hear this critical message – especially for today’s relativistic culture/church.

Crossroads Clinic – As most of you know, Amy Batchelor, who is one of our own, has a passion for protecting the unborn and is an active part of the Crossroads Clinic.  Crossroads has a critical fundraiser coming in April and Amy wanted to share a special word about that.  Please scroll down to see their letter to the church and a link to more details.

I wholeheartedly support what Linda, Amy, and the Crossroads team are doing and I plan on attending the banquet and donating to the cause.  Maybe LifePoint could sponsor a table? For more information, contact Amy Batchelor, our church liaison to Crossroads, or me. In the coming days, we’ll be working on making LifePoint a bigger part of the effort and you’ll be hearing more from me and LifePoint leadership in the coming days.

2024 Giving Statements – Statements that were not picked up in person have been mailed to the physical address on file for your convenience and timely tax preparations.

As always, I’m looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow,
Dan Fisher

CROSSROADS:
A message from Amy Batchelor-

Crossroads Clinic is entering a new season of ministry in light of Oklahoma’s abortion ban following the overturn of Roe v. Wade in 2022. Despite regulations, women continue to face unplanned pregnancies and access abortion pills or seek medical abortions in neighboring states. Crossroads Clinic remains committed to reaching abortion-vulnerable individuals early in their decision-making process, striving to connect with them before they turn to abortion.

The annual Crossroads Clinic Fundraising Banquet plays a vital role in this mission, raising funds and awareness to support their efforts. This year’s banquet will be held on April 10, 2025, at The Dominion House in Guthrie, with a goal of raising $150,000. Seth Gruber, a leading voice in the pro-life movement, will be the keynote speaker. Sponsorship opportunities are available to help underwrite event costs, ensuring that all donations directly support Crossroads Clinic’s work. For more information, contact Executive Director Linda Stewart or reach out to Amy Batchelor who is our church liaison to Crossroads.
