I wanted to remind you that I will be leaving Friday, July 12, for an 8-day BRR speaking tour in Michigan. For a number of years, we have been working with pastors up there, and during this time they have established a strong Liberty Pastors network which is gaining momentum. We have been trying to find a time for me to travel to Michigan and help with their efforts. This is the time that worked best for everyone. It is very hard for me to leave, but as you well know, we are in a crucial battle. Your support and prayers mean more to me than I can express. I will miss all of you, but I won’t be gone for long (returning July 22 or 23). I will be back in the saddle at LifePoint on Sunday, July 28, and happy to be home! If you are interested, you can view the Michigan schedule by clicking here.
In my absence, I have recorded my lessons for the Pastor’s Class for Sunday, July 14 and July 21. In those lessons, we will continue our discussion of the Millennial Reign of Jesus as we get into the initial events that will occur as Jesus begins His earthly Kingdom.
I have also recorded two worship service messages for Sunday, July 14 and July 21. These two messages will continue a 3-week series we started last Sunday entitled, “Best Be Sure - nailing down your salvation”. Last week’s message established the Scriptural admonition of “taking the test” to see if you or someone you know and love is a believer. In this Sunday’s message, we will discuss “The Test” itself and list some of the questions Scripture provides to help determine if someone is truly saved. We will finish the series on July 21 with the third message entitled, “Failing the test and losing your salvation.” This message will discuss what to do if you or someone you know and love fails the test. It will also explore the question of whether a true believer can “lose their salvation” and how someone can “appear” to be saved and then walk away from the faith. It is my prayer this series will help answer some of the most often asked questions about the signs that someone is truly saved and not just “going through the motions.”
I want to thank Matt Strait for graciously agreeing to lead worship the two Sundays I am away. I am confident that he, Hadley, and Robert will do a great job and be a huge blessing.
I would certainly appreciate your prayers for safe travel and God’s empowerment on my speaking while I’m in Michigan.
Also remember, there will be a Body Life workday at Phyllis Austin’s place this Saturday (July 13) beginning at 7:00 AM. Don said people can bring weed eaters and chainsaws, if they have them. A lot of the work out there is simply picking up what’s been trimmed or cut down down and loading it up. There will be some work on her storage buildings like tearing down and/or moving. Be sure to bring water and bug spray. Those who can join in the Body Life work are always welcome!
Last, I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider giving what you can to help Crossroads Pregnancy Clinic and the great work they do. In addition to giving to our own church, I truly believe this is a ministry worthy of our support.
