Good Saturday afternoon LifePoint family,
First, we have several of our folks who are recovering from surgery or are battling illnesses, please continue lifting them up in prayer.
Many of you have asked about how Paul Blair is doing. The latest I have is that he is improving and is responding to the medication. They are actually traveling back to OK today. I know they would appreciate your prayers.
Tomorrow’s slate is really full, so I want to take the rest of this email to give you a glimpse of what tomorrow will look like:
Pastor’s Class, 10:00 am: At the beginning of the class, Chuck McDowell, one of our Executive Team nominees, will take about 15 mins to share his testimony. You’ll want to hear how God has brought Chuck and Beth to this point in their spiritual journey.
Then, we will continue our “Biblical Types – the deeper message within the message” series with part 5, “The Cross 2000 B.C.,” which is one of the most amazing and inspiring biblical types of them all. You won’t want to miss it! If you missed last week’s final lesson on how Noah’s Ark is a type of Christ, you need to log onto our website (LBCOK.COM) and check it out.
Worship/Preaching service, 11:00 am: We will wrap up our “Winning Our World” series with part 4: “Gather and Scatter.” I think this will be a great ending to the series. I hope it has challenged you like it has challenged me.
Special note about Edmond mayoral & school board races: At the end of tomorrow’s service, Jim Putnam, who is running for Edmond School Board, Dist 5, will be sharing for about 10 mins. This will give those of you who live in that school district an opportunity to hear someone who, I’m told, embraces the same principles we do. Also, there will be a public forum for those running for the Edmond School Board and the candidates running for Edmond mayor on Mar 20th at Saint Monica’s Catholic Church, 2001 North Western, Edmond. The doors will open at 6:00 pm and the forums will begin at 6:30. Each forum is slated to last approximately 40 mins., so they’re hoping to have everyone out by 8:30-9:00.
LifePoint Shepherding Ministry Training: We are almost ready to bring our Shepherding Ministry online. After the service tomorrow, we will hold a training session for all prospective shepherd leaders. Once everyone has completed the training, we’ll share the exciting news of who our initial shepherds will be with the whole church.
As always, I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,
Dan,
