Dear LifePoint family,
I hope everyone is beginning to dig out of the snow. Wow! We’re told that we received almost 11 inches out here where we live.
I want to express a special thanks to those who have been reaching out to others in the congregation to lend a helping hand. You guys are the greatest!
If you need help, don’t hesitate to give us a shout. We have many in our church who want to serve.
I’m sure many of you are still reeling from hearing about the loss of the gift property on 33rd and S. Bryant. Although the Executive Team knew from the outset that the land had some restrictions attached, we were not prepared for the full list once we saw it on Jan 12. Somewhat shaken by the scope of the restrictions, the E.T. responded on Jan 13 with sincere questions and concerns – especially about required construction deadlines that we have no way of knowing we can satisfy right now. The donors responded to our questions/concerns by simply rescinding their offer of the land on the morning of Jan 14.
Certainly, the E.T. did not intend our questions/concerns to offend the donors or jeopardize the gift. However, in good faith, we just could not commit LifePoint to the full list of restrictions without further clarification.
Since the gift was rescinded, we have prayerfully backed up to re-evaluate God’s plan for a future location for our church. With that as a backdrop, we have begun the search again.
On Thursday, Jan 22, we toured a wonderful facility that could, with some alterations, meet the needs of our congregation – and at a doable price; at least potentially.
The E.T. would like to hold a townhall meeting this Sunday, Feb 1, during the Pastor’s/BRR Class at 10 am to share the details. We will not be voting on anything – only discussing the potential of this property. However, based on how the congregation feels, we could decide to schedule a vote for as early as Sunday, Feb 8.
Although we do not know for certain if this is the place God has for us, the E.T. is excited to share it with you this Sunday. Come hear the details – and be praying that God will make His will clear to us.
