4/26/2025 Message

Good afternoon LifePoint,

What a great Easter/Resurrection Sunday we enjoyed last week! Again, a special thank you to Vernon and the choir for all the hard work they put forth to make last Sunday’s service truly exceptional.

Remember: we have many in our congregation who are either struggling with physical challenges or are recovering from surgery. They would appreciate our prayers.

Special prayer for the Shepard family: Although they have not been able to “physically” attend our services since we became LifePoint (so some of you may not know them), Ron, Mary Ann, and Tom Shepard have been watching in Weatherford via our church website every week.
Over the past few years, Ron has been suffering from dementia, making it impossible for them to travel to Edmond from their home in Weatherford – although they were able to attend most every Sunday a few years back while we were still part of Fairview.

This morning, Ron, who was a “Top Gun” pilot for the U.S. Air Force, made his final flight into the presence of Jesus. I know the Shepards would appreciate your prayers during this tough time. When we know more about the memorial service, we’ll send out the information. If you would like to send them a card, the Shepard family mailing address has been emailed to you.

Tomorrow at LifePoint …

  • Pastor’s/BRR Class, 10:00 am – We’ll continue with our biblical types study with part 8: “A bride for the only son.” You may be asking, “What does finding a bride for Isaac have to do with us today?” Excellent question. Come hear this amazing story from the O.T. and learn how it has major implications for our understanding of N.T. truth.

  • Worship/Preaching Service, 11:00 am – We’ll be continuing our present series, “Resurrection,” with part 5: “Will we spend eternity as a ‘spirit’ or in a physical body?” This message will cover a subject that is strangely seldom ever discussed in today’s church, especially since it is of “first importance” to believers – the “bodily resurrection of Jesus” and its implications for all of us. You won’t want to miss this one!

LifePoint Women’s Ministry: the May 3 gathering has been moved to May 17 because many are attending the GOP State Convention the weekend of May 3. So ladies, mark your calendar for May 17, 10:00am – 12:00pm, Sherri Hamilton’s home/gym. See more details and the address in your email inbox.  If you have any questions, please contact Penny Allen or Carreybeth Lehew.

Earlier in the week, I emailed asking if anyone has a “good” car you would like to sell the church or donate to assist a couple in our church who were having trouble with theirs. Because of your faithful giving to our LifeBody Ministry, we were able to get their car repaired. PTL!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,
Dan Fisher
