LifePoint family,
As I’m sure some of you have heard, my mother went to be with our Lord this morning. She just turned 86 this past Friday and I was blessed to get to be there to celebrate with her. She trusted Christ to save her when I was just a little baby, so I and the rest of my family know where she is. She has been missing my dad every day for 45 years. We are rejoicing that this morning, she was able to see him again – not to mention to get to see her Savior.
I have shared that she has been struggling mentally and physically for the past few years and we have agonized to watch her fight through those difficulties. I am so happy to report to you that yesterday was her last bad day. From here on out, she is free! Thank you, Jesus for making a way for us beyond this vale of tears.
I know some of you are probably wondering if you need to travel to Arkansas to attend her memorial service out of respect and support for me. Let me quickly say that all we really need is your prayers – which I know we have and have had. There is no need for anyone to travel 3 hours both ways to Ft. Smith, AR to attend a service for someone you did not know. I am not saying that you would be unwelcome; it simply does not make sense for many of you to caravan all the way over to AR to then turn around and travel back the same day. Just knowing that you are praying for and thinking of us is a great comfort – and all we really need.
I will be traveling to AR sometime tomorrow or Thursday to do her service on Saturday, and will then travel back to OKC afterwards to be at LifePoint on Sunday. I will likely have to travel back over there sometime next week to help with her affairs, but I want to be with all of you for services this weekend.
Again, thank you for all your prayers and kind words. You all mean so much to Pam and me.
