A big thank you to our “Christmas Choir” who helped us kick off our celebration of Christmas last Sunday by performing a splendid rendition of the favorite, “O Holy Night.” Thanks to everyone in the choir for putting in the work to make this happen. A special thank you to Vernon Vincent for pulling everyone together and leading this effort. We’ll be blessed to enjoy a song from the choir every Sunday leading up to Christmas!
We also began our Christmas celebration with the sermon series, “Finding ‘Holy Days’ in the Holidays - removing the hassle & hurry from the hustle & bustle.” Last Sunday I preached part 1 of the message: "Tackling the Tyranny of the Urgent.” Many of you have already commented that the message “hit home” with you - especially at the beginning of this busy holiday season. We’ll continue this week with part 2 of that challenging, yet critical and timely message. This series will also cover topics like:
Making and Savoring Precious Memories
Keeping the in-laws from becoming Christmas outlaws
Silencing the “Christmas is a pagan holiday” crowd
Balancing pre-Christmas buildup with post New Year’s letdown
Other things to remember:
This Sunday during Pastor’s Class, 10:00am – We will have our Annual Church Budget Presentation. After Gary Davis finishes the presentation and we approve the 2025 budget, I plan to discuss the issue of where LifePoint will be meeting in 2025 and the process of finding a permanent location for our church. If you would like a copy of the proposed 2025 budget, see Gary Davis.
Dec 15 - A baby shower table will be set up in the church lobby for Jake and Katie Johnson who are expecting their first child. You can be a blessing to this young family by bringing a gift and leaving it at the table. The Johnsons are having a girl named Eloise Grace Johnson. Congrats Jake & Katie!
A note from the Women’s Ministry - The Taste of the Holidays cookbook will be on sale for $15/book in the lobby again this Sunday.
If you would like to go Christmas caroling this season, please see Teri Lopes! They plan to stroll the hallways at Bradford Village and bring blessings to those in need. They will gather Sunday, Dec 15, at 2pm, Bradford Village, 906 N Boulevard St, Edmond, OK.
As always, I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday,
