Hello LifePoint family,
I hope everyone had a good week.
I’ll be back in the pulpit in person tomorrow!
Thank you for your prayers while I was in Lawton doing my final BRR presentation for the year. I was at the Bible Baptist Church, Lawton, where Bob Weger is the pastor. I want you to be encouraged with the knowledge that our BRR efforts are bearing fruit. For example, Bro. Bob has taken the Black Robe message seriously, ran for office, and is now serving on the Lawton City Council.
Additionally, this week I visited with Jerry Perera, the man who arranged the BRR presentations in New England a few weeks ago. He said the folks there are still buzzing about the Black Robe messages I shared there and are now working on other events where that message can challenge many more New Englanders. No matter how small our part in reviving the American pulpit may feel, “we” are truly making a difference!
Thank you so much for your support and prayers. Those prayers were definitely heard last Saturday and prevented me from experiencing a total disaster on my way to Lawton when one of the wheels on the BRR trailer came off. What a mess! But as I said, the angels kept it from becoming an insurmountable wreck. I’ll tell you the whole story tomorrow. With as much resistance as we experience in attempting to get the BRR message out, the powers of darkness must really not want it to be heard. Remember, when you’re taking flak, you must be right over the target!
Items you need to check out:
Pastor’s Class, 10:00am: Sue Meyers Dyer will begin our class with a brief report about her recent mission trip to help the hurricane Helene victims in NC. You will want to hear her amazing story. Then, we will continue our present study, “The Final Judgment & the Lake of Fire,” with Part 5: “Is the fire in the Lake of Fire “real” & will those there be tortured forever?”
Worship/preaching service, 11:00am: Even though the election is over, we still have two messages remaining in the series, “God & Government – what every Christian must know.” Tomorrow, I will preach Part 6: “The church, the IRS, & the Johnson Amendment.” Many think it is illegal for a pastor to address “political” issues from the pulpit and that the church will lose its tax-exempt status if he does. This is a major reason why so many pastors refuse to address political issues. This message will clear up that fallacy and help us better understand the church’s spiritual/civic duty to stand and speak up.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow,
Dan
