I hope all of you are having a great week. As I write this, you only have two days left to vote early. If you can, vote before next Tuesday to not only avoid large crowds, but to guarantee nothing keeps you from making your voice heard in the 2024 general election.
Charlie Meadows made his “Charlie’s Picks” available for anyone who wants them. If you want Charlie’s suggestions concerning voting and did not get your copy last Sunday, contact Val and she will email a copy to you. I carried these guidelines with me into the voting booth and it made voting a much easier task.
Here are a couple of reminders for this Sunday:
This is the wonderful time of the year when we regain the hour we lost last spring. So, don’t forget to set your clocks back (fall back) an hour this Saturday night (Nov 2) when you go to bed and recover that hour of sleep.
We will take a church-wide photo this Sunday (Nov 3) after the worship/preaching service. Please help us by remaining in the auditorium so Jerry Hymer can line us up and get the founding members group portrait taken quickly. We’ll work to end the service a little early so we’ll have extra time for the photo.
Here’s what’s on tap for services this Sunday at LifePoint:
Pastor’s Class, 10:00am – we will continue our teaching series, “The Final Judgment & Lake of Fire,” by continuing Part 3: “All about hell.” This Sunday we will take a detailed look at Lk 16 where Jesus pulls back the curtain to allow us to see what happens when someone dies. This study will answer lots of questions I’m often asked about life after life.
Worship/preaching service, 11:00am – we will conclude our message series, “God & Government – what every Christian must know.” This week’s message is part 5 of the series and is entitled, “Does it matter how or if I vote?”
Don’t forget that we were able to purchase a block of hyperbaric sessions through the church at a greatly discounted rate. If you would like to take advantage of these reduced prices, contact Val and she can work with you to claim some of the sessions.
Coming events in summary:
Nov 2 – Set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed.
Nov 3 – Church-wide group photograph immediately after the service
Nov 5 – National election, pray for America and for right to prevail – and don’t forget to vote early if you can. (See early voting details below.)
Nov 10 – My final BRR presentation for 2024. Pray for the folks in Lawton as they prepare and invite people to attend. Pray God will use us for His glory.
Dec 8 – LifePoint annual budget review and proposal meeting during the 10:00am Bible Study hour. (Once Gary Davis has the budget ready, you can request a copy a few weeks prior to the meeting.)
