Hope you’re enjoying this nice, cool end of August (ha). Now you know why I hate my birthday. It has always been crispy crunch hot on my birthday! I should have been born in November! God bless my poor momma for having to carry me all through that hot August in 1959!
Thank you for making the effort to recognize my 67th birthday last Sunday. Although I told several of the gals who organized the celebration that I don’t expect the church to make a big deal over my birthday every year (just most of them ?). Believe me – after 67 of them, birthdays are beginning to lose some of their luster. Still, thank you for the kind cards, well wishes, and gifts.
Black Robed Regiment Min. update
I traveled to St. Louis on Thursday and did two Black Robe presentations on Friday. They were well received. The folks up there wanted me to thank you, the congregation, for allowing me to continue to travel and do the presentation, and for your constant support. Thank you for praying for me and for every kindness you show this ministry.
Prayer needs
We still have several folks struggling with different illnesses and/or recovering from surgery. I know they appreciate your prayers and personal contact. Reach out to someone you know who is having a tough time. You will be a blessing to them.
Building project update
We’re beginning to make progress with the actual plans for the expansion of our new facility. I was able to spend a good deal of time with our architect this week, and we hammered out major details of the plan. In a few weeks, we’ll have some good drawings to share with you.
Baptism service tomorrow
Tomorrow, we will have a baptism service at 2:00 pm at the HOA swimming pool located in Edmond, OK. (See your email for specifics.) We have at least 5 people being baptized. • Pastor’s/BRR Class, 10 am – We will continue our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Revelation as we complete lesson 7 and begin lesson 8: “The church age: Pergamum and Thyatira.” Jesus said the church at Pergamum had “married the world,” and the church at Thyatira was “in” the world. Someone has said that it’s okay when the boat is in the lake, but it’s not okay when the lake is in the boat. So, what happens when the church becomes “too friendly” with the world? The letters to these 2 churches will answer that question.
• Worship/Preaching Service, 11 am – We will continue discussing the epidemic of the plummeting biblical worldview of professed Christians in America and the resulting toll it is taking, not only on the church, but on the culture as well. Here are the messages I’ve shared so far:
- Going, going, gone, parts 1 & 2 (investigating the sliding biblical worldview of American believers)
- Why Israel? (understanding God’s divine purpose for the Jews)
- Why hate Israel? (understanding the growing antisemitism in America)
- Why save Israel? (understanding how Jews are saved & if they will ever embrace Jesus as their Messiah)
- Blind shepherds, blind sheep, and the ditch they drive into (investigating the deplorable biblical worldview of our church leaders in America)
- Does America have the “commie blues”? (investigating the spiritual causes and consequences of the alarming rise of Communism in America)
Tomorrow’s message will be part 2 of “The physics of morality.” Last week I shared how the evil philosophy of Charles Darwin has probably done more to damage the spiritual condition of America (and the whole world) than possibly any other philosophy. Part 1 of this message proved that the low to nonexistent morality of our culture is the direct result of rejecting God as our Creator. No God – no moral standard. Through Darwin’s lies, man thinks he has concocted a way to circumvent the existence of God; and all for one reason – to avoid accountability to Him. As we will see tomorrow, Christian leaders and pastors have aided in this deception by embracing either all or part of Darwin’s unscientific, ludicrous philosophy. Once we reject God’s revelation of Himself in the first three chapters of Genesis (confirmed elsewhere in Scripture), we have removed any foundation for morality and have, intentionally or not, created an “anything goes” world. This is why we are where we are spiritually in America today. Come hear part 2 of this important message – you won’t want to miss it.
