Good afternoon LifePoint family,

I hope everyone had a great week.

Many of you have asked about how Pam is doing.  For those who do not know, she was involved in a pretty serious car accident on Monday.  Unfortunately, a man was sitting at the stop sign at the intersection of Cemetery and Britton roads and did not see Pam coming and pulled right out in front of her.  She was not at fault, but a wreck is a wreck.  Thankfully, although both automobiles experienced significant damage, neither Pam nor the other driver was seriously injured. To add to Pam’s week, she had cataract surgery on her left eye the day after the accident.  Thanks to the Lord and His gift of modern medicine, she is recovering quite nicely from that surgery and is already experiencing significantly improved vision. Even so, we still appreciate your prayers.

In addition to our challenges, numerous other members of LifePoint are struggling.  I want us to remember them in our prayers as well.  Don’t forget – it is our responsibility to be “the body of Christ” to these wonderful people.  Reach out to someone who is facing a tough situation and be an encouragement to them.  You’ll likely find that as you do, you’ll be doubly blessed!  If you would like to be on the LifePoint prayer team, reach out to Deby Hockensmtih (see this message in your email inbox for her contact info).

I’ll be doing the BRR presentation at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha tomorrow evening, Sep 27.  Your prayers are definitely appreciated.  If anyone wants to go, some of us will be caravanning down there Sunday afternoon.  We need to arrive at the church by 3:00 pm, so we’ll grab a quick lunch after church and then head on down to Chickasha together.
 
Here’s how tomorrow will look at LifePoint:

• Pastor’s/BRR Class, 10am – we will continue our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Revelation.  We are presently studying lesson 8: “The Church Age – Pergamum & Thyatira.”  We’ll be studying the letter to the church in Thyatira – the church that was not only “in” but “of” the world.  Remember: these initial letters to the seven churches of Asia are critical to our biblical understanding, have solid doctrinal teaching for us, and hold, I believe, a special prophetic significance as they also seem to represent certain periods of time in the Church Age from Pentecost to the Rapture.  Come join us in the class tomorrow!
  
  
• Worship/Preaching Service, 11am – I will begin a multi-part message on false teachers tomorrow morning.  Tomorrow’s message will serve as an introduction to the topic and will be entitled, “The curse and consequences of false teachers.”  Sadly, today we’re inundated with false teaching.  Some of it is rather easy to spot, but much of it is subtly masked in Biblical lingo and is much harder to distinguish.  Additionally, many false teachers are quite sensational and therefore experience a level of “Christian celebrityhood” (as if there should be such a thing) and write books that become Christian bestsellers.  Consequently, their books/podcasts/messages are read and heard by millions who are often unwittingly duped into an incorrect understanding of Scripture.  What’s even worse, because of the false doctrine they consume, some eventually become spiritually “shipwrecked” and leave the church.  So, this message series is a must – especially for the day in which we live.
