Hey gang,

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday evening. We don’t have much to share this week, so this email will be short.

I do want to thank those of you who prayed for me this week. Beginning last Sunday evening, I began having pains that felt very much like a kidney stone was coming on. As it progressed into Monday morning, it appeared to be a kidney infection instead of a stone – whew, thank you, Lord! I don’t want to have one of those again. My one experience with a kidney stone some eleven years ago was enough for me for a lifetime. Anyway, it seems that I’m just battling a kidney infection, which is far better than a stone. I’m still dealing with the infection but feeling better. Thanks again to those who prayed. Let’s not forget to lift up all of those who need our prayers. It is definitely encouraging to know your church family is praying for you when you’re in a storm.

Here’s how tomorrow will look at LifePoint:

• Pastor's/BRR Class, 10 am - we will continue our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Revelation. We are presently studying lesson 8: “The Church Age – Pergamum & Thyatira.” We’ll finish up our discussion of Pergamum and move into Thyatira. Remember: these initial letters to the seven churches of Asia have solid doctrinal teaching for us and hold, I believe, a special prophetic significance, as they also seem to represent certain periods of time in the Church Age from Pentecost to the Rapture. Come join us in the class tomorrow.
• Worship/Preaching Service, 11 am - we’ll have a great worship experience, and then I’ll be sharing a message entitled, “Like a gardenia in a garbage can.” Does the deteriorating condition of our culture and world trouble you? Are you distressed about the upcoming mid-term elections – fearing the Leftists may prevail? Are the economic and global pressures we’re experiencing burdening you? Well, look up – we have hope beyond this world. It may be growing dark, but for those who are trusting in Jesus, it is growing “gloriously dark.” Because the signs seem to indicate the return of Jesus for His church could be upon us, how should that affect our attitude/altitude?
