10/31/2026 Message

Hope you had a great week!  Here’s a rundown of what’s going on at LBC.

Prayer requests

First, we have many folks in our church who need our prayers.  Some of them are:

• Bob Casburn: in Mercy Hospital fighting pneumonia.  He’s doing better and will likely go home Monday.
• Faye Dawson: recovering from knee replacement surgery.
• Paul Kozlosky: he and Sonya are in AZ where Paul is receiving specialized care for cancer
• Georgia King: battling spinal difficulties, insurance battles, and pain
• Peggy Burress: still recovering from hip replacement and battling Lyme disease
• Greg & Judy Kail: both are struggling with physical challenges
• Julie Dellinger: as she buries her father this week and wraps up his personal affairs
• Barbara Bobbin: at the hospital with respiratory issues – pray for Sonya & Lloyd as they help her
• Robert Jackson: ongoing cancer treatment
• Blake Fuller: ongoing back trouble and Nov 18 back surgery
• Deb & David Bingham's granddaughter, Rachel: continued healing from her burns
• Jerry Troxell: grandson, Landon

Please remember these folks in prayer and reach out to them to send love and support. As always, if you would like to request prayer, please click here, and Deby will get that request to us and the prayer team.

Reset your clocks tonight

Thankfully, Fall is here.  Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight to regain the time we lost last Spring.

Election Day is this Tuesday

As most know, this Tuesday is the midterm election.  Even though Oklahoma is not a battleground state and tends to vote conservative, it is still important that we do the right thing and vote.  As the book of James says, “If we know to do good and we do not do it, we have sinned.”

To help us to cast a more informed vote, we have posted Charlie’s Picks on our website. You can click here to access that information.  Be aware that I do not agree with Charlie on every issue.  As I wrote in my foreword to his “Picks” on our church website, I cannot personally bring myself to vote for candidates aligned with the leftist Democrat Party – no matter how bad the Republican candidate may be.  In cases like that, we may need to take Rep. Jason Murphy’s advice and simply leave that box blank (more on Jason’s recommendations below).  You will have to weigh the options and vote your conscience.

There are some choices that are difficult as always – such as knowing which OK Supreme Court justices to retain and how to vote on the state questions.  Many conservatives I respect have varying opinions on the state questions, so I really don’t have a strong recommendation either way.

When it comes to the individual candidates, unfortunately, many who are running as conservatives are actually RHINOs instead.  Sadly, in some instances, we may be forced to choose between the better of two bad choices.

As I said, Jason Murphy, former State Rep. and a friend I served with in the State House, has a far more critical view of some of the candidates than may be reflected in Charlie’s Picks.  Jason has written an informative article outlining his views and answering such questions as:

• How are you going to vote on the state questions?
• Is it OK to vote for a Democrat?
• What about the judicial retention ballot?

You may find his views helpful.  You can read his article by clicking here.

Regardless of some bad choices we may be forced to make, you need to fulfill your duty and vote.  And, please pray that the radical Left is unable to capture enough federal congressional/senate seats in other states that could greatly endanger our freedoms.

If you need help getting to the polls to vote, some in our church have graciously volunteered to drive you.  If you need to arrange a ride to the polling place, reach out to Val for help.  You can also click here to contact the team.

Women’s Ministry event coming Nov 7

Women, Save the Date!

All women are welcome to attend, and we would love for you to invite friends and family to join in this celebration. Please bring your favorite holiday dish to share! If you would like to volunteer, we will have sign-up sheets available at the welcome desk and in your Bible study. Also, we are looking for some talented ladies to create some centerpieces.  This would be a great way to share your artistic gift. Here is a link to all the photos taken at last year’s event to help you find your inspiration.

Tomorrow at LifePoint

Here’s how tomorrow will look at LifePoint:

• Pastor's/BRR Class, 10 am - we will continue our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Revelation with lesson 10: “Philadelphia – the church with an open door.”  We will continue our multi-week discussion of “The Great Tribulation,” which I believe Rev 3:10 introduces.  If you want to piece together end-time prophecy, this study is just what the doctor ordered!

• Worship/Preaching Service, 11 am - We are presently engaged in a timely and critical message series entitled, “The curse and consequences of false teachers.”  Three weeks ago, as we began to expose some false teachers and their heresies, questions were raised about the Word of Faith “little gods” teaching and the teaching that Jesus went to hell to be punished for our sins and then had to be “born again” to escape hell.  Last week, we dealt with the issue of Jesus going to hell. So tomorrow, we’ll examine the “little gods” teaching that has become so prevalent in our time.  Sadly, this heresy is more commonly believed than you might think.  Come hear what Scripture teaches about this false doctrine and learn the biblical perspective about who we really are as believers. If you missed or need to review a previous message, you can always do so on our website at Lbcok.com.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow,
Dan Fisher
