I want to thank everyone once again for your quick and supportive vote this past week in our attempt to acquire the 9.8 acres on Coffee Creek and Coltrane. Unfortunately, as we communicated in a previous email, although we won the auction, the owner is unwilling to sell the property at a price we can afford. But even though that effort failed, I believe we did our “due diligence” to follow up on that final lead.
So, now we need to decide if we want to acquire the 6 acres on Coffee Creek and N. Kelly. Since I am confident we have thoroughly discussed this property, I think the only thing left to do is to make a final and “official” decision as a church body.
Business meeting and land vote
Tomorrow morning, Aug 17, at 10:00 am, we will have a very short church business meeting to vote on whether we want to purchase the Coffee Creek/N. Kelly property for $1.55 million. Although the exact numbers of the transaction are not yet known, the Executive Team is recommending that they be authorized to negotiate a down payment of approximately $600,000 with the remaining balance of some $955,000 to be financed by a 15-year loan with a monthly payment of approx. $9,000.
Note: it is our intention to retire this debt as quickly as possible to allow us to begin the process of raising the finances necessary to begin construction on a new facility on this property.
Each LifePoint member (18 years or older) desiring to vote must register at the Constitution Hall welcome center before the meeting to receive a ballot. To expedite the process, please arrive a little early so we can complete the registration process to allow us to begin the meeting promptly at 10:00 am.
Services at LifePoint tomorrow
• Pastor’s/BRR Class, 10:00 am – as soon as we complete the business meeting, we will continue our Biblical Types study as we learn more about the mysterious, yet amazing person named Melchizedek. There’s more to ole Mel than meets the eye. Come join us and find out who he was and why Scripture places such emphasis on him.
• Worship/Preaching Service, 11:00 am – we will be circling back to the message series “Almost Christians” that we began on June 27, but was interrupted by the series on the Declaration of Independence. “Almost Christians” is a timely series of messages that will deal with the sad, but very real phenomenon of people who are “almost saved,” but never truly come to saving faith. You won’t want to miss a single message of this important series.
Don't forget the upcoming Women's Ministry Bible Study Launch, August 23 (10 am - 12 pm). Be sure to pick up the 2025-26 packet at the welcome desk this Sunday.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow,
