What a challenging week this has been. No doubt, like me, you have struggled to deal with the devastating and evil assassination of the committed believer and courageous patriot Charlie Kirk. Indeed, it is hard to make sense out of something so senseless. It does remind us that spiritual warfare is always going on all around us and that there are evil people in this world who think nothing of murdering a good man like Charlie. Additionally, this terrible crime has also made it obvious that there are people among us who think a brutal murder like this is something to celebrate. But even in the midst of this evil, there are some things we can be confident of – 1) Charlie’s untimely death did not take God by surprise, and 2) his death did not occur outside the control of God’s sovereign hand – even though we may not understand. In tomorrow’s message (which may turn out to be a message series), I plan to address this tragedy from a biblical perspective and hopefully help us learn whatever lessons we can from such a heinous act. I strongly urge everyone to be there tomorrow if you can. On a more positive note … We had a great baptismal service last Sunday. We were able to celebrate with a good number as they made their public profession of Jesus as Savior or recommitted themselves to follow Him. A special thank you to all who helped make that celebration happen and to those who attended. What a great time! Tomorrow at LifePoint · Pastor’s/BRR class, 10:00 am – I will begin a lesson that I taught about 6 years ago entitled, “Why are so many youths rejecting Christianity & embracing hedonism & anarchy?” Considering the assassination this week, I believe this is a much-needed discussion. Come join us at 10:00 tomorrow morning. · Worship/Preaching service, 11:00 am – as stated earlier, tomorrow’s message, “Sticks and stones …”, will deal with the spiritual/cultural illness that is leading to crimes like the murder of Charlie Kirk. You won’t want to miss this important sermon. Upcoming events
