9/12/2026 Message

As I sit here on the porch writing this email, we are experiencing a wonderful summer rainstorm.  What a blessing from God!  It reminds me of His grace that showers down upon us – undeserved and yet, received with thanksgiving and awe of His goodness.

I pray you are well this afternoon.  We missed all who were gone over the Labor Day weekend last week, and hope you had a great time of retreat and rest.  Last Sunday, I preached on a topic I have seldom preached on, yet one certainly deserving of our attention and action nonetheless.  The message was entitled, “Slothfulness is next to ungodliness - the sanctity of work & the sinfulness of sloth.”  If you didn’t get to hear this message, I encourage you to go to our church website at Lbcok.com and take a listen.  In this time of Socialist Democrats and the celebration of communism in America, this message is a subject about which we truly need God’s perspective.

Tomorrow at LifePoint

Here’s how tomorrow will look at LifePoint:

• Pastor’s/BRR Class, 10 am – we will continue our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Revelation.  We are presently studying lesson 8: “The Church Age – Pergamum & Thyatira.”  These initial letters to the seven churches of Asia have solid doctrinal teaching for us and I believe hold a special prophetic significance as they also seem to represent certain periods of time in the Church Age from Pentecost to the Rapture.  Come join us.
  
  
• Worship/Preaching Service, 11 am – we will resume our message series on “The declining biblical worldview of believers” by discussing part 3 of the message “The physics of morality.”  Part 3 is entitled, “What difference does a day make?” This message will examine the devastating consequences of not taking God at His word, but attempting to synchronize it with the shifting opinions of “man-centered” science – so-called.  Question: Does it matter if we don’t believe the creation days of Genesis were literal 24-hour days?  Is this just a subject to be debated by theologians with their heads in the clouds, or does it have repercussions for all of us?  Come tomorrow and find out.
